I've had a lot of different office spaces over the years.
I've been in one-room offices.
I've owned wellness centers.
I've shared space, and I've had my own.
I've had private offices with separate treatment rooms and huge waiting rooms (at one point I even had two waiting rooms).
Here's what I know for sure - your office's physical space isn't that important as long as you have efficiency front and center. ✨
Let's talk about client care efficiency when it comes to the physical space of the office.
In my office today, I've got a few different areas where my clients can help themselves to what they're looking for without my time and energy in the mix.
I have a client center in the bathroom, a client center in the waiting room, and two client centers in my treatment room - one for essential oils and one for payments. 🪄
It's imperative that if I don’t want staff in the office, I make it really clear how my clients (in my case, practice members) can help themselves to what they need without me being involved.
That's going to boil down to a couple of factors:
So, today in my office I have a client center in the bathroom where they can help themselves to onesies, diapers, wipes, changing pads, and whatever a new mom could possibly desire when she has her baby with her in the bathroom. ✅
Please remember, my perfect practice member is a 30-something mom who's going to have her kids with her at the office.
I need to be prepared, but I need to be prepared without my time and energy being involved because I'm busy with the other 30-something moms while this 30-something mom is in the bathroom with her kid getting her needs met.
I also have a client center in my kitchen area of the office.
This is where my practice members help themselves to snacks, treats, tea, seltzers, and water bottles - really anything my moms could need to quickly put out a temper tantrum created by a quick onset of toddler hunger. 🍎
I have a client center in my adjusting room where people can help themselves to leaving me a note for admin needs, addressing any scheduling issues, and submitting payment.
Again, my time and energy is not in the mix.
Perhaps I may answer a quick question or two while treating other practice members, but that's about the extent of it.
And finally, just for joy's sake, I have a spritzer bar for essential oils that is fully stocked with fun freebies, samplers, and enticing gifts that not only support the wellness of the families that I serve, but also really do it for me when it comes to how much I love to gift give. 🥰
I think it's important to note here that I do have somebody who comes to my office a couple of times a week when I'm not there (I call her my Casper) to take care of restocking, clean up, and ordering. It's not necessary to have a Casper, but it sure does help.
